2010 Community Safety Recognition
SE Uplift would like to congratulate the honorees
in the SE Uplift coalition area!
Livability Volunteer: Laurelhurst Neighborhood Association "For going above and beyond in their research and collaboration to problem solve livability concerns related to a location that was applying for a liqour license."
Public Satefy Project: Fritz Hirsch "For all of his hard work and dedication in addressing crime and livability issues on 82nd Avenue of Roses including active participation on the Prostitue Advisory Council and working with owners of a nuisance property to make significant changes to the area."
The Office of Emergency Management recognized: Mac McCawley and Bonnie McCombs, "of FMA 9, Laurelhurst NET. Doug 'Mac' McCawley was nominated by Laurelhurst Team Leader Ed Rentz. Mac came up with the idea to make a Power Point Presentation... built around the 'Triangle of Survival:' Make a Plan, Make a Kit, and Get Trained. They put in well over 100 hours in this endeavor. Mac and Bonnie were also instrumental in applying for and receiving a grant from SE Uplift to purchase equiptment to show the presentation."
The Office of Emergency Management also recognized the following neighborhood volunteers for taking training and assisting with the 2009 fall and 2010 winter H1N1 Vaccine Points of Dispersal:
