Next KNA meeting:  March 20

The next Kerns Neighborhood Association meeting is Weds., March 20 at 6 p.m. at the Pacific Crest Community School located at the corner of NE Davis and 29th Avenue. Food and beverage (pizza, salad and soda) will be available.  The meetings are open to anyone who lives, works or owns property in the neighborhood.

The agenda will be announced one week before the meeting.

Kerns & Buckman Annual Spring Clean-up:  Sat., April 20

April 20, 2013 from 9-12

@ Hinson Baptist Church – 1315 SE 20th

 

The Kerns and Buckman Neighborhood Associations have set the date for our annual joint clean-up. Neighbors are invited to drop off their unwanted items on Sat., April 20 between 9 a.m. and noon. 

The event is sponsored by SOLV and Metro.

When: Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. - Noon

Where: Hinson Baptist Church – 1315 SE 20th (cross street is Salmon)

Accepted materials:

  • Bulky waste
  • yard debris
  • metal
  • batteries (no lithium or car batteries)
  • tires
  • e-waste (including computers, cell phones, LCD monitors, printers and others)
  • fluorescent bulbs

Not accepted:

  • No lithium or car batteries
  • hazardous waste -
    Contact Metro for hazardous waste disposal
  • paint -
    Paint cans without lids and dried paint are acceptable
  • concrete
  • dirt

Donation: $10-30 depending on load.


Can’t bring the load yourself?  We pick up!  Call or email to schedule a pick up.

Thank you to our volunteer corps who will be fanning out to pick up trash and note graffitti:   Central Catholic High School, Norse Hall/Sons of Norway, Benson High School, DaVinci Arts Middle School, and Jean’s Place.  

We can always use more volunteers to help with the clean up efforts. Individuals interested in assisting may contact us via email or phone. 


We are also seeking food and drink donations from our neighborhood businesses, to donate, please contact Heather at 503-238-5217.
