South Tabor In Need of Volunteers
Posted September 27th, 2012 by South TaborThe South Tabor Neighborhood Association is made up of resident volunteers who work tirelessly to improve livability within our boundaries. Board members dedicate hours of time each month to ensure information is shared, safety is addressed and activities benefiting the community are implemented.
There are many exciting things happening in South Tabor right now, and we're looking to grow our work committees, so that neighborhood projects and activities can be successfully completed. We need volunteers to help with many of the tasks, below:
--Creation and management of a hard-copy and electronic newsletter
--Construction of neighborhood kiosks/bulletins to share information
--Development and coordination of fundraising activities
Garden Exchange Gains Interest, Momentum
Posted July 30th, 2012 by South TaborA neighbor-to-neighbor garden exchange table has been set up in the driveway between 63rd and 64th and Franklin. It was quite active during the transplanting season, but has since tapered off with warmer weather. Jana Thockmorton is leading this effort and is hoping to connect with neighbors who refrain from using chemicals, and who desire to share not only plants and seeds, but also the bounty that harvest season brings.
Thockmorton says, "I've met so many neighbors and am growing some wonderful things in my garden this year from many of you! So many neighbors come by and say...what is that? Could I get a start, or a seed? And of course the answer is always--YES!!"
