Southeast Sustainability

The quality of our environment is something that affects all of us, and it will take action at all levels of society to reach our goals for a sustainable future. SE Uplift supports neighborhood-based sustainability projects and aims to expand both capacity and knowledge within the larger coalition community, individual neighborhood associations and committees. We are dedicated to working with volunteer groups to find creative ways to reduce the carbon footprint of their neighborhoods, while also building a sense of community.

We provide  project development support for  neighborhood groups working toward a more sustainable community by helping neighborhood groups access community partners, tools, skills, and best practices. Projects we have helped develop in the past include Solarize Portland, Neighborhood Climate Action and the SE Portland Tool Lending Library

It is a win-win! Click here to learn more and to find out if your neighborhood is hosting a 2013 cleanup!

Ever wondered how to start a community garden? Or how to integrate renewable energy sources at the neighborhood level?

In our quarterly neighborhood sustainability workshops participants will have the opportunity to learn about innovative neighborhood projects ranging from winterizing homes to yard shares and urban farms; rain gardens and water management; unimproved roadways to alternative transportation. The possibilities are almost endless!
