Off and Running for Oregon in 2012

One month into 2012, and we're quite busy at 1000 Friends of Oregon. With the legislative session about to get underway, the Land Use Leadership Initiative launching, and our staff working on important regional and local planning and land use processes at all four of our offices, we've hit the ground running this year. Here's some of what we've been working on lately:

Preparing for the 2012 Legislature

Although the 2012 Legislature is intended to be a short session, lasting a maximum of 35 days, our staff has already been hard at work in Salem to promote our priorities of protecting the viability of farmland, fostering livable communities, and defending Oregonians' access to planning in their communities. We expect things to move very rapidly this session. Learn more about our priorities and stay informed all session long at our 2012 Legislature page.
