Climate Action Plan Town Hall
The city of Portland and Multnomah County invite Portland’s communities to attend Town Halls to discuss the 2009 draft Climate Action Plan.
The draft Climate Action Plan is a strategy to decrease local carbon emissions 80 percent by 2050. The plan identifies high-level goals and specific actions to accelerate local efforts to address this issue.
Please join us to hear about the challenges and opportunities set forth by this action plan. Your input is valuable.

Neighborhood Board Orientation 2009-2010
Have you recently been elected to your neighborhood association board? Are you curious about your roles and responsibilities? Do you want to meet like-minded neighbors from across SE Portland? If so, then please RSVP today to attend the Neighborhood Board Orientation on Saturday, June 27 from 9:00 AM-Noon.
Washington-Monroe All-Season Community Center
We want your input.
The old Washington-Monroe High School, located at SE 12th and Stark, is currently being developed into a community center which will serve a 3-mile radius service area around the site. We are looking for neighborhood input into the design and use of the community center, particularly because it will be used by so many different neighborhoods. A survey has been created to obtain this information from neighbors and can be found here.

Town Hall on the Economic Crisis
Jobs with Justice and St. Charles Church will hold a Town Hall on the Economic Crisis Tuesday, June 30 at St. Charles Church, 5310 NE 42nd Avenue to discuss the cause of the crisis, our government’s response, and practical solutions that focus on the interests of "Main Street" instead of Wall Street. Doors open at 6:30 for refreshments and to browse resource tables on jobs and training programs, mortgage counseling, food banks, and social services.
Neighborhood Ice Cream Social
Enjoy a warm summer night eating ice cream and mingling with SE Uplift staff, board members and neighbors from across SE Portland. This will be a great opportunity to build relationship across neighborhood lines!

Portland Bicycle Master Plan Early Preview!
The Portland Bureau of Transportation is presenting a preview of the Bicycle Master Plan for any interested community members. The Bicycle Master Plan takes a fresh look at biking in Portland and what it will look like in the future. This is your opportunity to get a first glimpse at the plan prior to the open houses scheduled around the city throughout May. The presentation can help you formulate any questions or input you have for the plan and offer it at the open houses as well as giving you a chance to ask any burning questions you have right now about the plan.
Share Ideas For Our New Community Center
After much work and anticipation, Portland Parks & Recreation has secured funding to begin identifying the needs, impacts and feasibility of developing a full service communtiy center at the site of the former Washington Monroe High School.
This event will kick off the formation of the Advisory Committee and provide information about how you can play a role din shaping and supporting this new facility.
